Did you recently go through a break up? Or do you know someone that can use some encouraging words that did go through one? Well keep on reading!
Hey beautiful people!
I recently had to let go of a relationship that had no future. It was heartbreaking because I believed there could be, but then again it takes two! I had to let go of someone I truly loved. A friend of mine posted a a question:
Which one is HARDER?
-
Moving On
-
Letting Go
-
Starting Over
Made me reflect on all the relationships, life changes and other things that would help me answer this question. I answered: Letting go! This has been the hardest because, I get so vested in something or someone, I get used to the way things are and of course I accept change, it is just hard to let go. I thought about all the times I had to let go, moving on and starting over was a breeze for me. I literally will pick up and move and look forward to the adventure. It is just that letting go part that hurts. I had to go back and reflect on the post, The Art of Letting Go to help me out.
Steps of letting go:
- Think of the things, thoughts, people and habits, write it down. The Guy
- Be honest, do you want to remove these things? If so, proceed to next step. I do want to remove him
- Remove these things, thoughts habits and people that stunt the growth of progression. Check
- Replace things with positive thoughts, people and habits. Mantras Below
- Enjoy the process. Let’s Do This
- Get ready for better. Excited about the future!
I also, looked at the guest post, What My Dead End Relationship Taught Me, and the following quote hit home….
The pressure is more arduous for Black women because the message of needing to know how to keep a man is always thrown around. We are expected to “hold it down” under all circumstances and receive nothing in return.
I am tired of trying to hold it down all by myself.
I watched my favorite show, The Office and a quote stood out to me where Andy is asking Phyllis why Angela cheated, and Phyllis said, “You deserve to be with someone that loves and wants to be with you!” I then found myself encouraging myself, all day saying things that I truly deserved from a man. So I thought I would share some of those mantras.
