Def Jam’s Bobby Sessions: Manifest Your Dreams with the Right Words

Photographer CicelyRenee

Hey beautiful people,

I had the pleasure of interviewing Bobby Sessions, a Dallas Native Hip Hop Artist who is signed to Def Jam. Def Jam is over the musical talent for the movie, The Hate You Give, in theaters Oct. 19 and Bobby Sessions has a dope song featured on the soundtrack with the movie’s title, The Hate You Give.

One of the many themes in the movie, The Hate You Give was Your Voice and Words are more powerful than a gun. One of the reasons I love blogging is to be able to use my words as my platform to promote life, living your best life!

Bobby Sessions reminded me that, the words you use will shape your future. He came across The Secret, internalized that and other books where he then used the words to design a life he loves. One year he quit his job with $50 dollars in his pocket and now has a title featured song on one of the biggest movies to come out and is signed to one of the biggest record labels out there!

Listen to the Bobby Sessions interview here!

I reflected back when my friend Christian-Simone reached out to me and told me how happy she was for me… I recently launched Bougie University and booked my first event. I told her, “Remember how I kept saying I wanted to go back to facilitating workshops?” She said, “Yes, that is why I am so proud of you.”

I recently listened to the audiobook of The Alchemist, and over and over the phrase, “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist. This phrase resonated with me as I looked back and remember all the things that I have manifested in my life, career, relocation, relationships, money and more.

So if we can manifest great things we can also manifest not so great things, our words shape our perspective, our behavior and therefore life. When you put words out there, the world conspires to help you achieve it, so be careful what you put out there in the atmosphere.

A couple of weeks ago, I put out to the universe that I am allowing myself to be open to love. I went out a week later and this handsome guy approached me, we talked, exchanged contact info, we have been out and although it is scary, I am pushing through it! He may not be THE ONE… but I am putting myself out there.

How to Manifest Your Dopest Life – Bougie University

  1. See the Vision– What do you see? Picture yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 25 years… what are you doing, what rewards are you receiving, what dreams came true?
  2. Write the Vision– Now you see it, start with the end in mind and write the ways you got there!
  3. Live the Vision- Put actions to what you wrote, what do you need to do to get there? What steps are you going to take?
  4. Celebrate the Reality- Celebrate along the way, little wins and big! Be grateful!
