Bougie Review: 2017 Mazda6 Grand Touring I LOVE THE SAFETY FEATURES

Although this is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own!

Hey beautiful people! After test driving all these Mazdas, I will say that I do plan to own one in the next two years. Something about the drive, the style, the amazing features, the comfort and I don’t know what else but I absolutely love Mazdas.

Over my spring break, I took my cousin Brittaney who came to town on an adventure to explore the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the 2017 Mazda6 Grand Touring. I pulled up, half sleep to the airport, (her flight kept getting delayed) with a whole lot of style! We tossed her bags in the super spacious trunk which I was surprised by because I love the crossover style of the Mazda CX 5 Grand Touring for the space!

We rode all over the place. The ride was so smooth. One thing that I did notice, however, was that I felt like the wind was blowing super hard even when there was no wind. Every time I was heading towards the next lane the car pulled the other direction. It took me awhile to realize what was going on but then I got all excited.

If you are looking for a car that really supports safety, this is your car.

Safety Features of the 2017 Mazda6 Grand Touring

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM

When traveling at speeds of 37 mph or higher, available Lane Departure Warning System10 gives you audible and visual warnings when it detects your vehicle is about to unintentionally depart from its lane.

DISTANCE RECOGNITION SUPPORT SYSTEM

At speeds above 19 mph, available Distance Recognition Support System9 measures the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead and recommends a comfortable following distance. If your vehicle encroaches on this distance, a warning light illuminates.

SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT

When traveling at speeds between about 2 and 18 mph, available Smart City Brake Support8 helps detect objects ahead and prepares your vehicle by adjusting brake pads closer to the disc. If no action is taken, the brakes are automatically applied.

ADVANCED SAFETY SYSTEM

Inspired technology that inspires confidence. Available i-ACTIVSENSE® safety innovations use sophisticated technologies like cameras and radar to give you a sixth sense for safety, helping to alert you to hazards before they happen. It’s another way Mazda helps you focus on what matters: driving.

So as I drove around Dallas to Deep Ellum, to Downtown Fort Worth, to Plano… to Arlington… my cousin Brittaney was like, I want to drive! I was enjoying how comfortable the seats were and how everything was so accessible. You had the control panel right between the passenger and driver’s seat. The steering wheel had many options to speed up, turn the music down, call someone and so much more. She still wanted to drive, so I let her.
She definitely was enjoying the drive and then it was my turn again. I got in the car and busted my head. She forgot to push the seat back! I am 5’9 and she is 5’2. She then realized that there were two programmable buttons for different drivers. She helped me program that so that I wouldn’t hit my head again!

So although this was a great car, my favorite is still the Mazda CX 5 Grand Touring. I love that I can see more because it sits higher. If I was going for safety and I had a 17-year-old learning how to drive then I would get the 2017 Mazda6 Grand Touring.
