Yes, it is that time again, when all things are NEW! New habits, new goals, and a new mindset! At least for the first few days of the year. Why do these habits die off quickly? Because we are focused too much on the task and not the principle. The principle behind the 75 Hard Challenge is not to get fit but to practice consistency and commitment. The challenge itself is great on its own, but I needed to modify it to fit my personal lifestyle.
What is the 75 Hard Challenge
- The 75 Hard Challenge by Andy Frisella is NOT a FITNESS Program and it is meant to be complementary to your fitness program.
- It is a set of activities you do for 75 days
- It is more for the mindset, the mental toughness, he says to think of it as the Ironman for your brain
There’s 2 workouts a day and I don’t specify to you what to do there. So plug in the workout from your other program for one of the workouts. Then do another workout that day. Don’t forget … one of the 2 has to be outside. You have to follow a meal plan and again, I don’t specify to you what to do there. So plug in a meal plan from any program for that. Just don’t forget … no cheat meals and no alcohol.

I love all of this, however, this is not my main goal. Yes, he states that it is complementary to your daily fitness and eating lifestyle but just wasn’t what I was focused on. Since the idea is a mental shift anyways, I decided to create a 75 Hard Challenge tailored to me!
What I Wanted to Focus On
- Bible Study Habits- I grew apart from God for many reasons, the main reason being that I was so busy. I made time for what I felt like I needed to do and God wasn’t in the picture. So God made room for me by removing things that occupied too much of my time. I wanted to really connect with God, and get to know Him on a personal basis.
- Be Physically Active- I now work full-time from home and I just sit at the computer! No good! I needed to do more than just walk the dog 3 times a day for 10 mins.
- Business- I wanted to be more intentional with my business, creating processes and routines, not doing things at the last minute, and not creating for the sake of a dollar.
- Study- I LOVE LEARNING. I love workshops and professional development which I got a lot of as a teacher so why not keep up that habit for your personal business, career, and lifestyle
- Create- I need to express myself in different forms and release all of those thoughts in a creative way
- Read 15 minutes a day- I might have been a little sneaky because reading the Bible definitely is part of that. However, I definitely want to read for business and pleasure.
- Healthy Intake/Diet- I have gained weight and not feeling myself due to eating so many things that I was not supposed to eat. So being more cognizant of the foods and beverages that I put in my body is and will always be part of my life.
