Small Girl in an Over-Saturated World, How to STAND OUT!

First thing is first, you are not small, you are a force to be reckoned with. You are uniquely you and that is beautiful! Number wise, well I guess 1 in 8 billion, but because you are the only one who can do you the way that you do, make sure that you do you boo! So no more playing small! Time to STAND OUT!

Secondly, have you seen all the different brands of makeup? Oh my gosh! What about all those tee-shirt brands? I remember hearing in group in reference to the people that did not want to start a business because there were so many people already doing it, they said, next time you have that idea, walk down the bread aisle… look at all those different brands and varieties… There is space for you too!

Thirdly, over-saturation is just an idea. For sure, marketers and financers all speak of an oversaturated market but they don’t see you and what you have to offer. They only see numbers. But like I said, you are uniquely you! And you will put your spin, your touch your signature… it is your own… unless you are legitly copying in that case… naw don’t do that!

So if you are questioning starting a business, applying for a job, becoming an artist, selling water, whatever it may be and you are afraid that you won’t stand out, I send this message to you, you were made for greater and as long as you are true to you… you will be good.

So how do you stand out? Let’s get started.

As a blogger, with a bazillion other bloggers, I knew it would be a challenge but I realized, that I had my own voice and my own challenges that could resonate with others. I wanted to write about things that mattered, to help others. What I had to do is find my voice though, which was tricky.

The blog has transformed and changed a bit but one thing that stays true is providing words that encourage and excite the minds of the readers. So knowing that, one way to stand out is to:

NEVER STOP GROWING, NEVER STOP LEARNING which helps you to stand out!

Always have a mentality of always learning whether it be through classes or youtube, there are so many resources available to help you shape your package on how you offer yourself.

Think about getting a job, in order for you to stand out, maybe adding some certifications that will be beneficial to the workplace.

DEVELOP YOUR SIGNATURE STYLE which will help you stand out

Maybe your clothing business, what can set you apart, maybe the way to you deliver it! People love an amazing experience so maybe your packaging is like a gift where people are so excited to open it. DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

WORK WITH OTHERS! CONNECT and COLLABORATE to help you stand out!

Easier said than done but to build out, working with people will do wonders! Want to be a public speaker? Connect with other speakers and create an event together. Want to be a writer, join some writing groups. There are a million ways to collab, you just have to get creative with it.

BE A SUPPORTER to STAND OUT

When you support others and are visible without asking for anything in return, people see that and for someone unknown reason, they want to support you back. But if you are always in the back where no one can see you, they cannot trust you or your brand.

SEEK INSPIRATION to STAND OUT

One thing that I noticed is that I didn’t do too well as a blogger when I just sat home and did nothing. I had nothing that sparked my creativity. I need to be exposed and experience things so that I would have something to say. Find people in your field and those that are not and find nuggets that will spark something inside you.

One thing that I recently got into was painting. There are soooooooo many painters and I am not the best but what I have noticed lately, is that I have been honing in on my signature style. I spent a great deal of imitating, trying to recreate as I taught myself how to paint. Eventually, I found things that made my paintings stand out. I will tell you one thing that allows me to stand out is throwing the idea of perfection out the window.

I feel as though if we wait to do something until it is perfect we will never get it done. Key thing is your own signature style, your thumbprint because that is how we know it is you!

So… you have some homework to aid you in your path to stand out

  • Write a list of skills and talents that you have that you also love to do!
  • Find opportunities to learn and be inspired
  • Set your goals and make a plan
  • Connect and collab with people that can help you with your goals
