Over the weekend, I was inspired to create. I scrolled through Facebook and saw this post about a family that created maps, it was so beautiful. I looked at it a bit longer and wanted to know how could I make a faith-based creative activity. God reminded me of an activity I used to do in my Therapeutic Art workshops, and I was like, ok how do I combine the two? And voila, My Faith Life Map was born! I think you should grab some supplies and create one this weekend!
What Is My Faith Life Map?
My Faith Life Map is a visual representation of how scripture is played out in your life. There must be prayer and meditation so that God can reveal things that you might have forgotten about. You are in reflection mode, looking at key moments in your life that made a difference in your life and the development of who you are.
How to Do It
- Pray for scripture to meditate on, this could be a scripture that has been on your mind lately, your favorite scripture, or look online for a scripture that represents a theme you want to focus on.
- Verse Mapping, now that you have your scripture, really understand what that scripture means. Looking at the translations, the context, the definitions, and more. Here is a free verse mapping template to use, once you sign up, you will get it in your email.
- Reflect– Spend 10-15 minutes journaling and reflecting on what the scripture means to you, how you can apply it to your life, and how you have before.
- Moments– List about 5-7 times you have seen this verse play out in your life.
- Create your My Faith Life Map- Check out the video below to see how I do it!
