In a world that often glorifies perfection and flawlessness, it’s easy to feel inadequate when we ourselves are broken. We may feel like discarded crayons, no longer useful because of our imperfections. However, as Christians, we find hope in the truth that broken crayons still color. Through God’s love and grace, our brokenness can be transformed into something beautiful and meaningful.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
Broken Crayons Still Color
- Embracing Imperfection: Just as a broken crayon still holds the potential to create art, our brokenness does not disqualify us from God’s love and purpose. In fact, it is through our imperfections that God’s grace shines most brightly. When we embrace our weaknesses, we open ourselves up to experiencing the fullness of God’s power working in and through us.
- Redemption Through Christ: The central message of Christianity is one of redemption. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are offered forgiveness and new life. No matter how broken or flawed we may feel, God’s love is greater than our shortcomings. He has the power to mend our brokenness and use it for His glory.
- Beauty in Brokenness: Just as a mosaic is made up of broken pieces to create a stunning masterpiece, God can use our brokenness to create something beautiful. Our struggles, failures, and pain can be transformed into testimonies of God’s faithfulness and grace. When we surrender our brokenness to Him, He can use it to bring hope and healing to others.
As Christians, we can take comfort in the truth that our brokenness does not define us. Instead, it is through our brokenness that God’s power and grace are most evident. Let us hold fast to the promise that broken crayons still color, and may we allow God to work in and through us, creating something beautiful out of our imperfections.
My prayer for you
Heavenly Father, Thank you for your unfailing love and grace that extends to us, even in our brokenness. Help us to embrace our imperfections and trust in your redemptive power. May we surrender our broken crayons into your hands, knowing that you can still color a beautiful picture with our lives. Use us, Lord, as vessels of your love and instruments of your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
