30 Days of New Learning Challenge + 30 Day Tracker FREEBIE

Welcome to the New Year!!! Are you ready to create an even more memorable year filled with expansion, leveling up, growth, prosperity and more? I know I am! So why not start your year off with a challenge!

Did you know that most people who create resolutions drop off after a couple of weeks to a month? Some of the reasons th happens are because:

  1. There was no PLAN OF ACTION
  2. The WHY’s were not legit
  3. It sounded good to say, but in reality there was no internal drive
  4. The process became to overwhelming and costly
  5. No accountability partner
  6. Believing and hoping for immediate results and give up when you see none

Those are just a few and I am sure there are so many more reasons, but we are going to shift our focus to a more positive outlook on New Year’s Goals and Resolutions.

I am a lover of learning and when you love something you cherish it, you grow it, you share it, which is why I thought a New Year Challenge of Learning would be amazing!

When you know better, you do better!

You not only do better, but you help others live better!

5 Things You Can Do With Your New Learning

  • Help others
  • Destroy Generational Curses
  • Change the outcome of your future
  • Strengthen your legacy
  • Be the Change you wish to see in the community and world- Gandhi

So I have a proposal, a challenge for you! I want you to grab your friends to take the challenge with you! This challenge requires a positive and open mind, desire to want to learn, and a commitment not to me but to yourself.

I had a conversation with my students the week before our Christmas Break, it went something like this:

The setting: Classroom

The students: Negative mindset about learning

Me: Taking it personally lol! Working on that!

Conversation:
Me: Do you know how a bank works?
Students: Yea!!!
One student going into extreme detail, above and beyond what I was going to say, but I took it and used it!

Me: Can you take money out without putting anything in?
Students: No (me hoping they don’t bring up loans)
Me: Correct, so how do you expect to get a great paying job or get into school or etc without putting in the work? Now imagine all the learning and putting that learning into action aka your bank account, that knowledge in the bank can mature, it appreciates, you can earn dividends on it… When it is in your mind, you can pull it out to have conversations, back you up when you have a test, or to help you get into college or earn that job! Your knowledge is wealth, gold, a hot commodity…. What you deposit, you can take out and use to help you, your family, and your future!

Cicely Carr- Teacher

I say all that to say to you, there is so much out there that can help you in all your endeavors if you just do the necessary work to get you there… and it literally is what you know… so if you don’t know, go do the research and learn what you need to take you to the next level.

There are two ways to complete this 30 Day New Learning Challenge. One is 30 Prompts to Help Activate Your Desire to Learn and Research and the Second is to create one big goal with milestones to help you learn something new.

30 Prompts for New Learning

Below you will find 30 prompts! These can be done in order or at random! The key thing about your new learning is that you have to retain it! HOW? You ask… well, grabbing a journal and reflecting on it or writing the necessary steps down. One of the best ways to retain it is teaching or telling someone else. Exercise is great as well, daily workouts, easy as a dance session or lifting weights helps your brain get stronger.

30 Days of Learning My One BIG GOAL

It is hard to do something when you have no reason to. Your why has to be a key driver! So think about why you decided to make a commitment to yourself of learning something new and what you want to learn. Is your goal to learn one thing and research strategies and put it into action? What is your goal?

We will use the SMART goal method to create your goal. When I taught Special Education, I had to create a big goal with small goals to help the student reach it. For example

CicelyRenee will be able to write a 5 paragraph essay by the grading period using the following objectives:

By week one, CicelyRenee will have written a clear thesis statement, with a hook in 3-5 sentences by Friday.

By week two, CicelyRenee will complete body paragraph one which includes a topic sentence and  example to back up first reason in thesis statement, having 3-5 sentences by Friday.

By week three, CicelyRenee will complete body paragraph two which includes topic sentence and  example to back up second reason in thesis statement, having 3-5 sentences by Friday.

By week four, CicelyRenee will complete body paragraph three which includes topic sentence and  example to back up third reason in thesis statement, having 3-5 sentences by Friday.
