Chaos, How I Journaled Through the Chaos of LIFE + Prompts & Freebie

Life had already been so chaotic, but then I closed my bookstore and it seemed to have unleashed a new type of chaos and I had no idea how to maneuver through it. Releasing this huge part of my life was a relief but then it opened this wormhole and I was even more confused. My chaos was time, I had a lot now but what do I do with it? I valued organized chaos and there was none, just chaos.

This newfound freedom did however afford me time to help bring the huge world to bite sizes where I got to reflect and journal, which I was too exhausted to do before. It is as if I was slowing down time and the world began to listen to me instead of me listening to it!

How I Journaled Through Chaos

I began being intentional with what I was listening to. I increased my messages from Pastor Toure and Sarah and their ministry. This gave me insight and inspiration for some of the new things I will begin. It empowered and motivated me and reassured me! This also gave me journaling themes and helped me reflect on my life and purpose.

I began reading more and taking the time to reflect through journaling. Although reading for pleasure is amazing, I am currently in a place where I am reading to elevate and amplify what I am doing with life. I know that what you put in, you put out and I wanted to put in knowledge, wisdom, and motivation.

I started putting boundaries on my phone… this helped limit the noise and chaos. I have an iPhone and it has this feature called, “FOCUS” and you can create settings where you only accept calls from certain people and alerts from certain apps. I do not know if you are like me and pick up your phone constantly and even more so when you get alerts. This eats your time and throughs your rhythm off.

I slowed my mornings down. I made sure that I got my lesson plans done the night before. I cooked a healthy meal. I made tea. I sat on my balcony and prayed and read the bible. It has been a blessing to not get up so early and be in a rush. It blessed my life.

What’s Next

As I maneuver through the chaos, the transitions, and the changes, I am implementing routines and habits that help me, my health, and my future. I may have to get up a little earlier, I may have to shift some things, but I am implementing structures that are not just tasks but behavioral and spiritual necessities. I need water… I want to need to journal. I want to need to move slow. I want to need to set boundaries. It may not be a morning thing, but I want to make sure it is in there at some point of my day.
