Artists on the Move: Kendra ‘Vie Boheme’

Vie BohemeI love finding amazing people through other amazing people, why because I follow just some amazing people that are doing some amazing things.

I was scrolling down my Facebook feed when I saw a friend share a video about this artist who lives in the Twin Cities, she was promoting her new single, Exit and I just had to be nosy. One she looked fly and she just looked like such a free spirit and I love those “type” of people, I am one of those people.

When I watched it her I was like I need to interview her and so I reached out.

During the interview I just felt like it was a special word for me, a word of encouragement to go after what you want.

Kendra who goes by the name of Vie Boheme, Vie for short! Her voice a sultry and intoxicating. Her first passion is dancing and she went to school for dance. She moved to Minneapolis when she had the opportunity to dance with a production called TU Dance and stayed there for three years. I saw Tu Dance and it was amazing… I am sure I saw her but did not know it at the time.

Growing up she sang in the choir but she never thought about singing as a profession. She was on the praise team but she wanted to dance. However, after graduating she decided to go to an open mic, nervous the first time but she came back a second time, sang and people were very impressed. That was then she got inspired to sing.

Vie has the passion for singing and dance and in her performances she fuses them together. SO if you were to go watch this beauty, you will not only get some amazing vocal skills you will get an amazing performance where dance is infused through the beats and the lyrics.

I asked Vie what would be some advice you would give to those who want to pursue their passions she said,

PhotoCredit Farrington Llewellyn 1“Listen to your inner voice and trust that! Be who you are because at the end of the day you are faced with yourself.” She went on to say, “Organize what you want to do, you can do it all but not at once.”  And finally, ” No one has to understand you but you! So love yourself, love your art, and love what you are doing.”
