Solo Retreat: Why You Need One and How to Have One

Hey beautiful people!

Over the weekend, I planned a Solo Retreat and it was definitely needed! You are probably wondering what a Solo Retreat is, it is comparable to a sabbatical… But no need to plan a trip that takes 6 months, a year, or even a week! A couple of hours one weekend is all you need!

5 Reasons to Plan A Solo Retreat

  • You have been working non-stop
  • You are becoming toxic to others around you
  • You are all over the place mentally, emotionally, physically etc
  • You are busy without a purpose
  • You are continuously giving and not receiving

Planning Your Solo Retreat

  • First think about the areas you want to focus on- pampering, meditation, etc
  • Next think of activities that will help you achieve your goal- Mediation- maybe a yoga class, lunch in the park,
  • Carve some time out whether an hour after work, a weekend, a month etc

5 Things to Consider Doing On Your Solo Retreat

  • Have a goal in mind and do things that will work towards that
  • Keeping the phone and other distractions at bay
  • Being open-minded to new experiences and especially SOLO
  • If you don’t live alone, maybe finding an inexpensive Air BnB or hotel to get away to
  • Remove yourself from familiarity- familiar places keep you comfortable, safety is key but exposing yourself to new experiences and places promotes growth
