16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel,[i] because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith,[j] just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.[k][l]
Romans 1:16-17
Bodybuilders are onto something, they know that they have to eat a certain way, think a certain way, and train like it is nobody’s business. People naturally have muscles, but of course, if you want to become a bodybuilder, that requires daily and sometimes, hourly activities that help them strengthen and grow your muscles. A bodybuilder doesn’t become a bodybuilder overnight. The more they train the more muscle they grow. It reminds me of faith. We naturally have faith, maybe faith in somebody, something, or even ourselves to do what we want. I have faith that when I sleep, I will wake up. I have faith that when I sit in a chair, the chair will hold up. The thing about that though, at one point it will fail. We need to train and focus and fix our faith in the One that will never fail. That can be challenging, but remember we naturally have faith, we begin in faith, and we end in faith. How do we strengthen our faith muscles? We train a certain way, eat a certain way, and think a certain way. We must train all day every day creating muscle memory!
Because we are righteous, we must live in faith.
So how do we strengthen our faith muscles in Christ?
- Writing and memorizing scripture- you have to use God’s word to remind you of His promises and love for you. (2 Tim 3:16-17, Prov 7:2)
- Creating Habits
- Morning routines- Prayer, devotional, worship music etc
- Exercise routines- listen to sermons or worship music while you exercise
- Lunch routines- whatever you want to focus on, maybe scripture journaling
- Count your blessings! No literally, try to count your blessings and reflect on your character, your feelings, and what you did during that situation, and use that to help build that muscle so the next time something comes up you will remember and your faith in God is strong. (Psalm 103:2, Eph 5:20)
- Serve and pray for others- Jesus was a servant and in Acts 10, we have a God-fearing and devout man that was extremely charitable and it became a memorial offering for God. It is something our Father wants us to do as Christians. (Acts 20:35, Matt 5:16, Phil 2:4)
- Talk to others about your faith and share your testimony, it’s similar to counting your blessings but now you are helping others strengthen their faith
- And listen to their testimony!
- Listen to Bible teaching ministers- hearing the word from Godly teachers will definitely help you on your faith journey
Our faith shows us that we are confident that God is indeed good. It shows that we are confident that God is in control. It shows that we are confident that God knows best. It shows that we are confident that God answers prayers.
So build that Faith muscle to trust in the Lord!

Most gracious God, thank you for being such a faithful God. Thank you for access to your faith! Help me to remember and be confident in you as a good good Father. Help me to be confident that you are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen
