Hey beautiful people! I love finding new amazing artists that deserve to be shared with the world. This lovely lady is another talent from my favorite group Do You Boo where we all just shamelessly promote ourselves and it is ok. This lady named May shared some really amazing photos of some artwork she had recently done and I was amazed at how dope it was. I need to get a print for my wall! Of course I had to interview her and she was excited to do so.
If you haven’t seen the latest Artist On The Move with Lex, be sure to check it out to show your support. Even if you are not in the position to buy this art, please share so that others get a chance to see who out there in the world has talent. Thank you!
So beautiful people meet May from London. The type of art that she does would fit under the Abstract/Geometric genre. I love how she captures people in such an artistic way! She truly is an artist. You can find her on Facebook and Instagram
Interview
Tell me about who you are, where you are from, hobbies, passions, favorites etc.
I’m May, I’m 28 years old. I was born and raised in Paris, France, but I’ve been in London for 2.5 years . I love music but unfortunately I can’t sing lol. I listen to music all the time, there isn’t a day where I don’t listen music! I love trainers as well and tattoos. I paint, draw, sew, basically do a lot of creative things with my hands! But my passion is painting!
When did you realize you had talent and how did you and your family go about cultivating your talent?
I was really creative from a young age and I was really lucky that my mom and my grandma always pushed me in that direction. My mom took me to visit museums from a young age as well and I’m sure that helped me develop my creativity .
Where do you get the most inspiration for your work?
It depends! Usually from colors outside or from a video or a song. But recently I started this new series called “THE RAPPERS PROJECT” and this one has been influenced by all the rappers/musicians I listen to!
Have you taken any classes to perfect your skills and talents? Why or why not?
When I was around 7 my mom put me in a drawing class for one year I think but I didn’t like the teacher so I left lol.
What advice would you give someone who is new to your area if talent?
I would say that you need to keep in mind that you could have the most amazing talent on earth but if you don’t share it and you don’t network, the world is probably never gonna be able to see it and it’s a shame! And to be confident with your work never let anyone say its not good enough or what not .
Are there some difficulties in what you do? Care to share?
I don’t like to network and I’m really bad at it but I’m working on it because like I just said it’s a big part of being an “artist”.
What new skill or technique would you love to learn and why?
I would like to try oil painting and paint a huge wall. I would love to learn how to tattoo as well.
Well I hope you enjoyed getting to know May as much as I did. I am too excited to see more of her work. Did you like her pictures? Let me know what you think!
Please be sure to check her out and share so others can see her beautiful artwork.
